Susan’s family beach portrait session was in March 2026.

We went on location to the condo that they were staying in, in Gulf Shores, to provide the Gulf Shores family beach portraits. We do this a lot, going on location to many condo rentals. Many people are staying in Airbnbs or condos rented through other means. We can photograph right on the beach in front of the condo down by the beautiful water’s edge.

Gulf Shores offers some of the most amazing beaches on the coast of Alabama. White sands, emerald green waters, and in March, this time of year, it’s nice and cool out before the summer heat moves in.

We photograph Gulf Shores family beach portraits most of the year and the temperatures change from month to month. In March, you can expect a nice cool breeze, and on some days, even a brisk feeling out. Then as we move into the summer months, the warmer weather moves in. Great for getting that sun tan you’ve always been wanting.

At the many different times of the year, the sun moves from out over the water to straight down the beach to in the summer months back setting over the land. So we get a completely different type of photography look at different times of the year based on where the sun has moved to. But at My Family Beach Portraits.com, we have no problem providing the right lighting, whether it’s natural light or with flash photography, to create beautiful Gulf shores family beach portraits year round.

We provide a mixture of groupings, from large groupings to single images.

As part of your Gulf Shores family portrait session, we do a wide mixture of photos. Starting with larger groups of families, then we break the families into smaller groupings, and then down into couples, and then even individual photos of kids, or anyone that wants an individual photo.

During this whole process, we’re doing a mixture of fun, candid photos and some posed photos. We want everyone to look good and do our best to make sure everyone looks happy and is having a good time on the beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

As part of our family portrait sessions, we like to have fun and let our clients have fun as well. So if you have any fun crazy ideas that you want to do just let us know and we’ll have no problem photographing them for you. We can even help with some suggestions as well.

We start our photo sessions one hour before sunset, shooting into the sunset. Based on the time of the year and the sun location, this will determine how the sunset photos look. We are a Gulf Shores Sunset Photographer. Every day is different on the beach. From the temperature, to the wind, and the direction of the wind, and how the sun looks. It’s changing, even as we’re shooting.
