A New Camera Dose Make A difference.
So what's new. Back in the film camera days many cameras would let you shoot outdoors in bright sunlight and knock down the sun using a high shutter speed.
By doing this we could produce much better outdoor portraits like on the beach.
Rich colors and much better exposures that give a better look for the photos. But when digital cameras had come out this feature was not possible due to how the cameras shutter worked with the sensor.
Its back. .. Sony did it - They made a camera that can do this and a lot more. This takes digital photography into another level that was lost to the past.
Many younger and starting out photographers don't even know this was a feature and have no clue how to even use it or understand why they would even want it.
But photographers used this all the time for outdoor portraits in the past. When we first started doing beach portraits over 25 years ago this was used all the time but digital wiped that out. We are super happy to see its back now.
We now have this amazing camera and are using it on our Family portrait jobs. We started it in 2024. For us this is a game changing camera that will change how we shoot for now on.
We can now shoot in brighter light on the beach and get much better images and exposures not possible before.
We love great color and good photo exposures and now we can do this even better. This works shooting both with natural light or with flash.
We Have A New Best Friend ..His Name Is Jack
It was not planed but when we got a call saying do you want a dog and they told us about him and sent photos .. well my wife told me yes.
Jack was up in AK with our grand kids. They had him for us. He was left over from a littler from a breeder up by them that had not sold. So we could have him at no cost just come get him. So we meet them half way driving 6 hours each way to pick him up.
At first Jack looked like a black and brown bear. Jack is a Soft coated Wheaten a non shedding dog. It's quite amazing to see no hair ever falling out. He has a thick coat and in summer we have to trim him a lot to keep him cool.
Jack has been a blessing as he has given me and my wife so much joy. From the now more walking we do to the fun plays we have with him and his Wonderfull smile that just makes us smile.
Jack is now a full member of our family and we love him very much.
We got Jack when he was 12 weeks old, He is now just over two years old.
He is a Wonderfull boy and we are happy to share our life with him.
So as part of our plan to move to Portugal at some point Jack is also part of that.
He will need some special care to make the flight and for him moving as well. And we need to find a house to rent with an enclosed yard that is dog ready.
So say Hi to Jack he loves to meet new people and other furry friends.
Ready For Another Great Year.
As we end the 2024 year and move into 2025 we have been shooting on the beach going on for over 25 years. We have meet with and photographed over a thousand family's and around 1800 weddings.
We have now started planning our retirement but not just yet.
Our plans include moving to Portugal. We spent a month in Portugal last year for a month and loved it.
But this is a big move and a lot has to be done to get a visa and make that move.
We will still be working in 2025 and maybe 2026 providing our high quality photo services. A lot of things need to fall into place before we can move to Portugal and that may never happen.
We do have some YouTube channels we started. One is for our travels and one for camera and equipment reviews I do.
Over time we will be making a lot more videos and do that as we move into retirement at some point.

Looking Back
A few years back we spent some time on the road traveling and shooting photos full time in a 40 foot bus RV we had you can see here.
We traveled for a year from Florida to WA State and then next in to CA and AZ and many places before returning back. Then it was back to the panhandle of Alabama to get ready for our summer family beach portraits and beach weddings. That was back in 2018.
It has been a great few years being back on the coast. Back in 2019 We moved into a home in Gulf Shores so we are close to the beach and all our jobs.
Going back many years I am sure many of you will remember us as we photographed hundreds of families on the beach in both Alabama and Florida. We went by the name At The Beach Portraits and At The Beach Weddings for many years. We sold that business and moved to Branson MO for a few years and then back to Florida down by Clearwater and we did more beach weddings and beach portraits in that area.
Who Are We. Know your Photographer
We are Ed and Donna Morgan
Ed was one of the first photographers on the coast to start a website just for family portraits and also one of the first to start offering small beach wedding photography packages with a dedicated website just for them.
Over the years we crafted many family beach portrait poses that others have tried to copy and our style of lighting that is unmatched.
Ed also created and sold software to hundreds of other photographers around the world called Hollywood Photo Magic for creating wedding and portrait album designs in Photoshop. This included making hundreds of album design templates we also sold.
We also ran for many years one of the first online photo printing services called Digi print store and an online photo sharing site called My Event Gallery.
Ed also created many movie poster recreations and shot green screen photography printing 24x36 posters of them with our own large format printers and making metal prints.
If You Are into MMA Fights
For a few years we lived in Branson MO and Ed shot MMA fights for a regional fight group called ShoFight as their official paid photographer shooting all their fights. We also shot family portraits as well in Branson by the lake.
Ed has been in the photography and video business for over 35 years as a creator and innovator even producing many TV shows and TV commercials.
Ed also creates websites under the name Go Active Media that started on October 2nd, 2001. We no longer offer website design but still manages a few sites for some customers and enjoy making new versions of website for our self.
Donna has been with me all the way 100% part of the business in every way. She handles all the bookings and helps on jobs and with posing and as a second shooter on weddings. She also spends a lot of time on the phone with clients. she is the backbone of our business and I could not have done it all with her.
