The traditional dress colors are white shirts and khaki pants or tan dress but this also can make you blend into the beach as the Gulf Shores beach is white sand so we loving seeing other colors being used like bold colors or another popular outfit is blue jeans and white shirts, Black also works well as does Turquoise it stands out well on the beach.

A few colors to stay away from are bright colors like bright red or yellow they can be overwhelming looking with the white sand and blue-green water and sky colors.

You can wear anything you want it is your family beach photo session this post is only some suggestions with a few photo samples to show each look to see.

Things to maybe expect on the beach can be wind. We have a wind or breeze blowing on most days on the beach and based on the direction of the wind blowing we will position you so the wind is blowing your hair back to keep it out of your face. In the summer months, it can be very hot out so expect to get a little sweety from the heat and humidity.  Water mist, The ocean can be splashing waves and be creating a water mist you may feel a little bit of. Overall at sunset on the beach you will have a great time and enjoy the feeling as the sun sets and the air cools down as the sky lights up with its amazing colors.

I was told a 40-acre orchard pardon the pon was small apples to most orchard but to me, it was huge Many newer apple growers are vining their apple trees, This gives the tree more time to concentrate on growing apple than growing taller. Washington apple growers work year round to produce incredible apples. They start pruning the trees in the winter, Watching their blooms in the spring, thinning out the small apples in order for the larger ones to grow.

While on the tour Jim did a sugar/starch test on an apple to check to the sweetness of the apple, Too sweet and the apple has less hold time and would need to be eaten soon. There are 5 main apple-growing regions in Washington. All apples are hand-picked this is to maintain the quality and protects the apple from bruising. Once each apple is hand-picked they go into a large bin and promptly taken to a nearby packing house. There the apple is thoroughly washed, then sorted by size, color and quality and recoated.Some apple growers send them to markets to be sold and some apple growers put into a controlled atmosphere storage which is how we are able to buy apple year round or shipped out of the county for supply & demand. A controlled atmosphere storage is oxygen is replaced by nitrogen and the temperature is held at 32* Most of the storage apples come from Washinton State. The apples being exported must stapped with the warehouse number and a CA symbol. Washington has the highest concentration of storage of any region in the world.

Our grandchildren love taking walks with their Pop-pop and picking apples. We many spent hours playing outside, reading, riding Bicycles, swinging, playing in the bouncy house, swimming and running around being silly.

They live in a breathtaking town in the Yakima Valley with wineries, vineyards, apple orchards, Cheery orchards, berry farms, hops fields and dairy farmers. You can see Mt Rainer from their yard! We never realized how hard it was going to leave. We are on the road now on the way back to the Gulf Shores Alabama area we are taking out time so we can enjoy more of the different areas as we travel.

The balloon rally was at the Prosser airport in the early morning. I grabbed my camera gear a Nikon D500 and Tamron 10-24 wide angle lens and Nikon 85mm 1.8 lens and headed out to the Balloon Rally.

They had a large crowd and it seemed like everyone had a camera taking photos. I took many photos and had a good time shooting. I then entered three photos in their photo contest and just found out today that I had won two first-place entries one for two different categories.

Here are the winning photos I took and a few extras from the rally. We are taking off here from WA on the 23rd of Oct to head back to the Alabama coast for our 2018 Gulf Shores Family Beach Portraits.
